Mary E. Bartkus

Mary E. (Beausang) Bartkus, 84, of Beaver Pond Lane, Bridgewater, wife of the late Ludvic J. Bartkus, died at Candlewood Valley Health Care Center on Sunday, November 20th. She was born in County Cork, Ireland on March 31, 1921, daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Coleman) Beausang. She immigrated to the United States at the age of two.
Mrs. Bartkus was a devoted homemaker maintaining the family home. She enjoyed sewing costumes, square dancing, ballroom dancing, and ice skating. She and her husband were once the King and Queen of the Massachusetts Square Dancers Association and they loved to travel with "the gang" to square dancing exhibits.
She will be sadly missed by her sons Richard P. Bartkus and his wife, Jeanne of Bridgewater, and Stephen J. Bartkus and his wife, Linda of Cape Cod, MA.; her six devoted grandchildren, Daniel, Harrison, Sarah, Bethany, Tarryn and Shannon. She is also survived by her sisters, Kitty Drew and Eileen Miller; her brothers, John and Tom Beausang. Funeral Information
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 25th at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church, Brookfield. Cremation will take place at the direction of the family.
