Bruce Lloyd Kelman, 70, died Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at his home in Danbury, CT.
Bruce leaves his son, Christopher Kelman and daughter-in-law Marcy of Monroe, CT; his sister, Mary Jane Lipkin-Kelman and sister-in-law Luanne of Provincetown, MA; and two grandchildren, Jackson and Josie Kelman. He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth (Connolly) Kelman.
Born in Bridgeport, the son of Abe and Margaret (Parry) Kelman, Bruce grew up in Stratford, CT and was a graduate of Stratford High School. Upon graduation he joined the Navy and served on both the USS Johnston and USS Hugh Purvis destroyers. He also attended the University of Bridgeport. Bruce later made his home in Monroe, CT where he worked at Vitramon and served as police commissioner for seven years. After moving to Danbury, Bruce worked as a comptroller for Ethan Allen and, most recently, for Jewelry Designs. Bruce enjoyed travelling, was an avid fisherman, and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Bruce will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by his family, friends, and coworkers.
