Gerald Louis Kulhay
May 21, 1947 - March 18, 2008
Gerald Louis Kulhay, 60, of Austin Street, Danbury, devoted husband of Leigh A. (Sproule) Kulhay, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on Tuesday, March 18th. He was born in Bridgeport on May 21, 1947, son of the late Louis and Ruth (Neubert) Kulhay.
Mr. Kulhay worked as a letter carrier for the United States Post Office in Bethel for 33 years. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Danbury. He was a family man who enjoyed being with his loved ones. He also enjoyed making model rockets, reading, and astronomy.
In addition to his beloved wife of 37 years, Leigh, he will be sadly missed by his two sons, Jeffrey N. Kulhay and Lisa of Glastonbury, and Nicholas J. Kulhay of Danbury; his four daughters, Greta L. Silva and Ricardo of Griswold, Maria N. Kulhay and Michael Hawkins, of Bethel, Johanna R. Kulhay and Eric Gray of Bethel, and Rebecca L. Kulhay of Danbury; six grandchildren, Charles and Shane Kulhay, Jaylen and Makena Hawkins, Nicholas and Tyler Silva. He is also survived by his brother, Thomas P. Kulhay of Danbury; his in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Bud Sproule of New Fairfield; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information
Funeral Services will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Saturday, March 22nd at 3:00pm.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday afternoon between the hours of 1:00 and 3:00pm. Donations Information
