Carmella J. (Abbatiello) LaBarbera, 84, of Federal Road, Brookfield, wife of the late Thomas LaBarbera, Sr., died on Thursday, February 5th in her home. She was born in Yonkers, NY., on September 24, 1919, daughter of the late Genaraso and Agnes (Marrasco) Abbatiello.
During World War II, Mrs. LaBarbera worked for Sanborn Map Company in New Rochelle, NY., a company that made strategic maps for the Military. Later she dedicated herself to being homemaker, maintaining the family home. She enjoyed sewing.
She will be sadly missed by her two sons, Genaro LaBarbera of New Fairfield and Thomas LaBarbera, Jr. of Brookfield, with whom she made her home; a daughter, Concetta Ward of Hollywood Fla.; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Teddy Abbatiello of NY.; a sister, Yolanda Brown of Maine; as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information
The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Sunday, February 8th between the hours of 2 and 5pm. A Wake Service will be celebrated at 4:00pm. A Spring Burial will take place in Central Cemetery, Brookfield, at the convenience of the family. Donations Information
