Alfred J. Langballe, of Danbury, husband of the late Rose Marie (Constantine) Langballe, died at Harborside Glen Hill on Wednesday, May 20th. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on October 12, 1925, son of the late Anthony Langballe and Irene (Nordquist) Lindquist.
Alfred joined the Navy at the age of 17, and served during World War II. Upon returning home, he worked as a metal spinner, until his retirement in 1986.
He was known for his "gift of gab," sense of humor, generosity, and willingness to help anyone in need, despite the health problems he faced. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his son, Richard A. Langballe and his wife, Daphna of Edison, NJ; his daughter, Rose E. Fischer and her husband, Kent of Patterson, NY; and his grandsons, Jonathan and Steven Langballe.
He was predeceased by his stepfather, Charles Lindquist; and his brother, Gene Lindquist. Funeral Information
Funeral Services will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Saturday, May 23rd at 4:30pm. Burial will be held privately in Long Island National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday between the hours of 3:00 and 5:00pm. Donations Information
