Sister Yvette LaRiviere, CND known in religion as Sr St Alicia Marie, died at Andrus on Hudson Retirement Community, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY on Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at the age of 92.
Sister Yvette was born in Waterbury, CT on September 28, 1911, daughter of Mathias and Alicia (Menard) LaRiviere. She attended St Margaret Elementary School and Notre Dame Academy High School. She received both BA and MEd degrees from St Michael's College in Winooski, VT.
Sister Yvette entered the Congregation of Notre Dame of Montreal and made First Profession of Vows in August, 1933 and Final Vows in August, 1939. She taught in Bourbonnais, IL, the Bronx and Manhattan, NY, Providence, RI, St Albans, VT and at Waterbury Catholic High School, Waterbury, CT. She moved to the Congregation of Notre Dame in Ridgefield, CT in 1977 where she remained until the retirement residence there was relocated in April, 2004 to Andrus Retirement Community in Hastings, NY.
Sister Yvette is survived by a niece and several grandnieces/nephews and great-grandnieces/nephews. Funeral Information
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 9, 2004 at 10:30 at the CND, 223 West Mountain Road, Ridgefield, CT. Burial will follow immediately in St Peter Cemetery. Friends may call at the CND on Thursday, July 8 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Prayer Service is at 6:30 p.m. The Cornell Memorial Funeral Home, 247 White Street is in charge of arrangements.
