Lewis G. Beck Sr.

Lewis G. Beck, Sr., 90, of the Gardens in Danbury, husband of the late Anna S. (Blasy) Beck, died at Danbury Hospital on Thursday, January 28th. He was born in Danbury on April 5, 1919, son of the late Lewis G. and Bertha (Hill) Beck. He was a graduate of Danbury High School and lifetime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Mr. Beck was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army. He was a recipient of the EAMET Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and a Purple Heart.
He worked as a plumber for Culligan Soft Water for 30 years and was a volunteer fire fighter at Phoenix Hose Co. #8.
Lewis enjoyed reading, especially scientific and mechanical books, and built his own telescope. He loved to fish and was a talented artist.
He will be sadly missed by his two sons, Lewis G. Beck, Jr. and his wife, Harriet of Naugatuck, and Kurt T. Beck of Oakville; his three grandchildren, David Beck and his wife, Renee, Jennifer Soltanas and her husband, John, and Jason Beck; his two great grandchildren, Cailyn and Brianna He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury on Tuesday, February 2nd at 11:00am with Pastor Walt Harper officiating. Burial will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday morning, one hour prior to services.
