Opal Lottie Lubus, beloved wife of George R. Lubus died on October 9th at the Danbury Hospital after a long illness. Mrs. Lubus was born in West Monroe, Louisiana, daughter of the late Myron and Lottie Hart. She maintained her home on Great Plain Road, Danbury.
A proud Navy Wave, Opal served in the United States Navy during World War II. She was a Charter Member of the Women's Memorial in Washington, DC and was appointed by Brigadier General Wilma Vaughn.
Opal lovingly maintained her home for her husband and family members. She was also a caregiver to many veterans at her "Meadow Rest Home" in Danbury.
Besides her husband of 56 years, Opal is survived by her daughters, Georjean Lubus, Linda Prang and Paula Marion and her husband, Tom, all of Danbury; and ten grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters, Betty Hart and Joan Prang. She was predeceased by her brother, Preston Hart and her great grandson, Ken. Funeral Information
