Catherine E. Madden, of Summitt Drive, New Milford, wife of the late Harry J. Madden, died on Monday, September 22nd at Candlewood Care Center, at the age of 84. She was born in Stamford on September 21, 1919, daughter of the late Bartley and Rose (Shannon) Harrington and made her home in Stamford most of her life.
Mrs. Madden was a homemaker and private duty Nurses Aid in the Stamford and Greenwich area. She was a parishioner of St. John's Church in Darien.
She will be sadly missed by her two devoted sons, William B. Madden of New Milford, and Frank H. Madden and his wife, Marie, of Ridgefield; her cherished grandchildren, William B. Madden, Jr., Suzanne Burr, Kathleen Madden, and MaryJo (Madden) Knick; and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Robert Harrington of Maine, two sisters, Virginia O'Neil and Eileen Hoyt both of Stamford; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Margaret Serafin. Funeral Information
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 26th at St. John's Church, Darien, at 9:00am. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Darien. Friends may call on Thursday, September 25th between the hours of 6 and 9pm at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury.
