Peter Mariano
July 28, 1922 - May 16, 2004
Peter Mariano, 81, of North Beech Tree Road, Brookfield, devoted husband of Mary (Tristan) Mariano, died on Sunday, May 16th at Danbury Hospital. He was born in Berwick, PA. on July 28, 1922, son of the late Frank and Chiara (Gualano) Mariano.
Mr. Mariano was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army 820th MP Company, 3rd Platoon in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. He was a recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, EAME Service Medal, Five Bronze Stars, and the Victory Medal.
In 1948 Peter and his brothers, Joseph and Angelo, founded Mariano Brothers of Danbury and he remained active in the business community for 55 years. He was an active member of the First Assembly of God in Brookfield. He was instrumental in the construction of many churches in this country and in world missions. He was a member of the Board of Regents for Valley Forge Christian College in Phoenixville, PA, for twenty years.
Besides his wife, Mary, of 58 years, he will be sadly missed by his son, Frank D. Mariano and his wife, Dianne of Brookfield; his two daughters, Faith Badoud and her husband Woody, and Barbara Vigue and her husband Bill, all of Brookfield; his grandchildren, Peter and David Mariano, Andrew and Ben Badoud, Emily Giordano, Gabrielle, Mary, & Michael Vigue; great grandchildren, Henry Badoud and Noelle Giordano. He is also survived by four brothers, Angelo of Danbury, Joseph of Brookfield, David of Pompano, Fla., and Rev. Daniel Mariano of Norwalk; two sisters, Grace Re of White Plains, NY. and Rose Re of New Milford. He was predeceased by his grandson, John Badoud. Funeral Information
Funeral Services will be held at the First Assembly of God, 133 Junction Road, Brookfield, on Thursday, May 20th at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery, New Milford. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 19th between the hours of 4 and 8pm at the First Assembly of God, Brookfield.
