Harry C. Maynard
June 20, 1920 - September 16, 2004
Harry C. Maynard, 84, of Mist Hill Drive, New Milford, devoted husband of Cora "Peggy" (Mullin) Maynard, died at Harborside Glen Hill, on Thursday, September 16th. He was born in Bethel on June 20, 1920, son of the late Charles and Ruth E. (Howe) Maynard. He attended Bethel High School.
Mr. Maynard was a Veteran of World War II, serving overseas in the European Theater with the 36th Infantry Division of the United States Army. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart and a Bronze Star.
He worked as a foreman for Barden Corporation for thirty-two years. He enjoyed all sports, especially golfing, and was an avid Mets Fan.
In addition to his wife of 63 years, Peggy, he is survived by his sister, Edna Sears of Danbury as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Clinton Maynard, and his sister, Elanor (Maynard) Makowski. Funeral Information
Funeral Services will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Monday, September 20th at 1:00pm. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home on Sunday, September 19th between the hours of 4:00 and 7:00pm. Donations Information
