Obituary of Michael T. McCloskey

Michael T. McCloskey July 12, 1944 - February 04, 2007 Michael Thomas McCloskey, formerly of Bethel, passed away this Super Bowl Sunday at Danbury Hospital after enjoying 62 years of his life. Born July 12, 1944 in Brooklyn, New York, a son of Vera (Cuggy) McCloskey and the late George McCloskey. Michael graduated from Msgr. McClancy High School, Jackson Heights, NY and received B.A. in Accounting from Iona College, New Rochelle, NY in 1970. After a long run of 27 years at Union Carbide in Danbury, he headed west to Santa Barbara working with a long time friend. He moved on to Florida for a couple of years then to return to Connecticut after his illness. Michael spent the last years of his life with his family in Danbury, CT enjoying his true love the New York Yankees and reading the New York papers every morning. In addition to his loving mother, Vera, Michael is survived by his children: Kerry Ann McCloskey, Karen Leigh Fusaro and her husband, David Fusaro, and Lisa Marie McCloskey all of Danbury and son, Kevin Michael McCloskey of Bethel; a brother: George McCloskey and his wife Kathleen of Lynbrook, NY; and granddaughter Devon Quinn of Danbury; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 8, 2007 at 10:00 am at the Church of St. Mary, Bethel. Cremation at Charter Oak Crematory will follow. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 7, 2007 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury. Donations Information At the request of the family, donations in Mr. McCloskey's memory may be made to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of Danbury Hospital, 24 Hospital Ave., Danbury, CT 06810.
