Obituary of Jane Meeker

Jane Meeker June 21, 1917 - October 27, 2008 Jane (Bielizna) Meeker, age 91, of Sunset Dr. Danbury, wife of the late Jesse T. Meeker, died peacefully at Bethel Health Care Center on Monday, October 27th. She was born in Danbury on June 21, 1917, daughter of the late Matthew and Mary (Warchick) Bielizna. Mrs. Meeker was a graduate of Danbury High School, Danbury Teachers College, and received her Masters Degree from Fairfield University. She worked as a teacher for Ridgefield Public Schools. She will be sadly missed by her son, Jesse J. Meeker and his wife, Sandra of Danbury; her daughter, Mary C. Meeker of Wakefield, RI; her grandsons, Jack and Thomas Chapman. She is also survived by her sister, Lillian Blaskiewicz of Wethersfield; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Jules and George Bielizna; and her sister, Philomena Castronovo. Funeral Information Friends may call at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Thursday, October 30th between the hours of 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00pm. Cremation and interment in Wooster Cemetery will take place at the convenience of the family. There will be no funeral services. Jesse, Mary and Sandy would like to thank the staff of Bethel Health Care for the compassionate care given to Jane for her entire stay, and most especially in her final days.
