Ms. Ray L. Miller, a long-time resident of Mahopac passed away on June 9, 2007, while temporarily in Connecticut. Living to almost 98, Ray was preceded in death by her parents, Sarah and Samuel, her brother, Isidore H. (Hack), and her sister, Mildred. Ms. Miller was a graduate of Hunter College High School and Hunter College and went on to be become a beloved teacher of physics at the High School. Always looking to inspire her students, Ray spent a year at Harvard helping to develop the pioneering new Physical Sciences Study Curriculum. An avid traveler with her sister, Ms. Miller was also devoted to gardening, civic and literacy programs, and reading for the blind. She leaves two nieces, Judith Miller Jones (and husband Stan), residing in Shepherdstown, WV, and Washington, D.C., and Louise Miller Key (and husband Jim), residing in Camano Island, WA, and a nephew, Alan Miller (and wife Vickie) residing in Baldwin, KS.
