Howard G. Morris Jr.
August 22, 1915 - November 28, 2003
Howard G. Morris, Jr., 88, of Stadley Rough Road, Danbury, husband of the late Hazel (Houghtaling) Morris, died on Friday, November 28th, at the Danbury Hospital.
He was born in Danbury on August 22, 1915, son of the late Howard G., Sr. and Lillie (Miller) Morris. He graduated from the State Trade School of Danbury.
Mr. Morris was a veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Navy as a Motor Machinist Mate, 3rd class, on the USS LaSalle. He was a recipient of the Victory Medal, Philippine Liberation two stars, Asiatic Pacific five stars.
He worked as a quality control inspector for Bard-Parker Company for 35 years and retired in 1977 from Becton and Dickinson.
He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Danbury. He was a member of the VFW of Danbury, Post 149. He was an avid golfer.
Mr. Morris will be sadly missed by his daughters: Sandra and her husband Robert Tarsi, of Danbury; Pamela and her husband John Potter, of Ohio; three grandchildren: Suzanne Osuch, of Danbury; Beth Tarsi, of Danbury; and Sean Potter, of Ohio; and one great grandson, Jordan Osuch, of Danbury. He is also survived by two brothers: Joseph Morris, of Southbury; and Walter Morris, of Naugatuck; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, George Morris. Funeral Information
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 13th at 11 a.m., at the First Congregational Church of Danbury.
