Francis F. Albert, age 94, of Danbury died on Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at Danbury Hospital. His loving wife of 75 years, Anna (Kranz) Albert, predeceased him in December.
Mr. Albert was born in Danbury on February 11, 1911 a son of the late Frank F. and Anna (Newland) Albert. He was known as the oldest resident of Golden Hill. Mr. Albert he moved into his home at age 11 and lived there the rest of his life. He was a graduate of Danbury High School and during WWII he served in the U.S. Navy and was based at Palermo in the Mediterranean Sea. Mr. Albert retired in 1976 ending a 30 year career as a field engineer for Preferred Utilities Manufacturing.
He is survived by a son: Gary L. Albert and his wife, Melinda of Sherman; two daughters: Nancy Gallucci and her husband, Gene; and Kay Keating and her husband, Edward, all of Danbury. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren: Gary Jr., Tim, Jamie Albert, and Tammy White, John Gallucci, Dawn Dinho, Lori Zarcone, Jill Fay, and Jeffrey Keating, Melanie Price, Bryan and Shawn Swett; and eighteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his grandson, Michael Keating; his brothers: John, George, and James; and sisters: Anna and Angela. Funeral Information
The funeral service will be on Saturday, March 19, 2005 at 1:30 pm at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury. With Chaplain Kendall Palladino of Regional Hospice officiating. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 18, 2005 from 5:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home. Donations Information
