Rita E. Noel, age 94, of Whisconier Road, Brookfield, devoted wife of the late John J. Noel, Sr., died at Danbury Hospital on Tuesday, September 30th. She was born in Carbondale, PA on April 25, 1914, daughter of the late John J. and Elizabeth (Coleman) Mahady.
Rita Noel was a Registered Nurse who worked in New York City Hospitals. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Brookfield, and was active in their 55 Plus Club. She was also a member of the Brookfield Senior Citizen's Club.
She will be sadly missed by her two sons, John J. Noel, Jr. of Milford, and Gerard P. Noel and his wife, Joan of Brookfield; her eight grandchildren, John P. Noel, Bridget Steel, Kevin, Gerard and Alison Noel, Edward, Robert and Rita Engel Altman; and her seven great grandchildren, Zoey Steel, Kristen, Kimberly, Julianna and Timothy Engel, Jule and William Altman. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughters Rita Marie Noel and Julie Ann Engel. Funeral Information
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 3rd at 10:00am. at St. Joseph Church in Brookfield. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, NY.
The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Thursday between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00pm. Donations Information
