Kevin G. Norton
September 23, 1945 - January 24, 2007
Kevin G. Norton, 61, of Rita Drive, New Fairfield, devoted husband of Patricia (Durkin) Norton, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital on Thursday, January 25th. He was born in Danbury on September 23, 1945, son of the late Homer Angus and Luella (Smith) Norton.
Mr. Norton was a licensed arborist, and member of the Connecticut Tree Protection Association. He was currently serving as Tree Warden of New Fairfield. He worked for Hissong and Weyant Tree Experts in Danbury from 1963 until 1983. At that time he purchased the company, owned and operated it until semi-retiring in 2001. Hissong and Weyant continues to operate under the direction of his son, Keith.
He was a past member of the New Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the National Rifle Association. He was an avid big game hunter.
In addition to his beloved wife, Patricia, he is survived by his two sons, Keith Norton and his wife, Lois of New Fairfield, Chris Norton and his wife, Barbara of Cheshire. He will be sadly missed by his cherished grandchildren, Colleen, Rebecca, Keith Jr., and Catherine Norton. He is also survived by his brothers, Homer Norton of Danbury, and Raymond Norton of Southbury; his sisters, Marilyn Worth of New Milford, and Sandra Paradise of Redding; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Janet Novicky. Funeral Information
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 27th at 10:00am at the New Fairfield Congregational Church with Rev. Patricia Nicholas officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, New Fairfield.
The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury on Friday, January 26th between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00pm. Donations Information
