Morgan J. O'Brien, 73, of Sun Dance Road, Danbury, died at his home on Monday, February 13th. He was born in New Rochelle, NY., on May 4, 1932, son of the late Morgan and Rebecca (Flynn) O'Brien. He graduated from Iona College with a degree in Business Administration.
Mr. O'Brien was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving with the United States Army. He worked as a sales representative for Stride Rite Shoe Corporation for more than 30 years. He was a devoted fan of the New York Yankees and UConn Huskies Basketball.
He is survived by his son, Morgan O'Brien, Jr. and his wife, Melissa of Hurst, TX; his two daughters, Kathleen O'Brien of Hampton, CT., Susan Inz and her husband, Jonathan of Bedford, MA.; and his three grandchildren, Rebecca and Zachary Inz, and Siatta Massaquoi. He is also survived by his former wife, Florence (Sheehan) O'Brien of Woodbury; his sister, Rebecca McCabe and her husband, Michael of New City, NY.; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his longtime companion, Mary Melycher. Funeral Information
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 18th at 11:00am at St. Gregory the Great Church, Danbury. Cremation will take place at the direction of the family.
The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Friday, February 17th between the hours of 5 and 8pm. Donations Information
