Geraldine Marie (Montgomery) Bertolotti, 91, of Heritage Village, Southbury, wife of the late Joseph C. Bertolotti, died at Danbury Hospital on Wednesday, July 22nd. She was born in New York City on October 21, 1917, daughter of the late Major and Josephine (Howe) Montgomery.
Mrs. Bertolotti was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Southbury. She loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, and her great grandchildren. She had a quick Irish wit and loved to sing Irish songs. She shared her many experiences of growing up in NYC, watching the building of the George Washington Bridge and her first walk over it.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Geri Hopper and her husband, Harry of New Milford; her granddaughter, Kristin Hopper of Fairfield; her grandsons, Joseph Michael and Walter John Wuchiski, both of Fairfield; and her sister, Clare Kennedy of Darcut, MA. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, James; her sisters, Catherine, Margaret, and Lorraine; and her nephew, James Kelly. Funeral Information
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 25th at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church, Brookfield. Burial will take place on Monday, July 27th in Calverton National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield on Friday (TODAY) between the hours of 4:00 and 7:00pm. Donations Information
