Jean F. Olive, 84, of Simeon Road, Bethel, husband of the late Elizabeth (Vante) Olive, died at Danbury Hospital on Sunday, October 23rd. He was born on February 4, 1921, in St. Thomas of the Virgin Islands, son of the late Frederick and Emily (Chaplain) Olive.
Mr. Olive was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army.
He worked as a bartender for Park Sheraton Hotel in Manhattan, New York, retiring after 38 years. He was a parishioner of St. Mary Church in Bethel.
Mr. Olive was an avid stamp and coin collector. He enjoyed gardening and working with his hands fixing things. He had a playful sense of humor. When asked his age he would jokingly reply "I'm 42 in each leg."
He will be sadly missed by his son, Frank Olive, Jr. and his wife, Maureen of Bethel; his daughter, Suzan Starke and her husband Joe Warren of Holmes, NY.; his grandchildren, Frank and Denise Olive, Christopher Starke and Jennifer Dormer; his great grandchildren, James, Ashley, Michele and Elizabeth Dormer. He is also survived by seven siblings, Mike, Fr. Alphonso, Wally, Maggie, Marie, Sylvia and Emily; as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral Information
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 in the morning on Saturday, November 12, 2005 at St. Mary Church in Bethel.
Cremation will take place at the direction of the family. Donations Information
