Eugene H. Ormsbee Sr.
February 07, 1934 - March 28, 2008
Eugene "Gene" H. Ormsbee, Sr., age 74, of Sunset Hill Rd. Bethel, husband of Patricia Ann (Bruso) Ormsbee, died peacefully at his home on Friday, March 28th. He was born in Ellenburg, NY on February 7, 1934, son of the late Carl A. and Blanche (Bombard) Ormsbee. He was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving with the United States Army.
Mr. Ormsbee worked for Charles Batchelders Co. in Newtown for 24 years. He retired from the maintenance department at Danbury Plastics Co. He was a member of the Lyon Mountain Methodist Church in Chateaugay, NY. He was an award winning Horseshoe player and was a member of the Danbury Horseshoe Association.
In addition to his wife, Patricia, he will be sadly missed by his two sons, Eugene H. Ormsbee, Jr. and his wife, Donna of Trumbull, Raymond C. Ormsbee and his wife, Susan of Newtown; his two daughters, Diane Crowe and her husband, Steve of Danbury, Linda L. Rizzo and her husband, Michael of Bethel; and eleven grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Florence Collins, Marion Kretschmann, Alice Chatelle, and Sandra Newman; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his two brothers, Carl and Everett Ormsbee; and his sister, Linda Marx. Funeral Information
Family and friends are invited to join in the celebration of Eugene's life during calling hours at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Monday, March 31st between the hours of 4:00 and 7:00pm.
Funeral Services will take place in Chateaugay, NY, and burial will be in Lyon Mountain Cemetery. Donations Information
