Howard Peatfield, 82, of Danbury, died September 2, 2009 at Pope John II Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, after a short battle with cancer. Howard was born June 7, 1927 in Boston, MA, son of Charles and Jessie Peatfield.
He grew up in Boston and after serving in the Headquarters Troop 97th Signal Battalion in the American Zone in Germany, attended the University of Massachusetts, Stockbridge School of Agriculture before embarking on careers in greens-keeping and sales. He was a small business owner for many years.
Howard was an avid model railroader and a founding member of Danbury Railway Museum, donating numerous hours of volunteer efforts to its cause.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; son, Kevin; daughter, Cheryl; granddaughter Emily; brother, Ross; sisters, Glenda and Claire; and numerous nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Roger. Funeral Information
There will be no calling hours. A private interment ceremony will be held at the Veteran's Cemetery in Middletown, in the near future. Donations Information
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Howard's memory may be made to the Danbury Railway Museum.
