Arnold F. Bird
March 25, 1922 - July 15, 2005
Arnold Frederick Bird, age 83, of Danbury died peacefully on Friday, July 15, 2005 in Bethel. He was the husband of the late Hazel (Andersen) Bird. Arnold and Hazel grew up together and by the age of 14, Arnold decided he would marry Hazel. They were happily married for over 62 years and died within days of each other.
Mr. Bird was born in Danbury on March 25, 1922, the only child of Frederick and Emma (Bailey) Bird. He served his country during WWII as a soldier in the Army. Mr. Bird was employed for over 35 as a truck driver for the Amphenol Corp. Mr. Bird was a man of many interests; upon his retirement he pursued his hobby of refinishing furniture and restoring antique chairs. He was a member of the Germantown Volunteer Hose Co. since 1952 and was a member of the Germantown Fife & Drum Corps. He also was a member of the Company of Military Historians.
Mr. Bird is survived by a daughter, Linda Moskowitz of Brookfield; two sons: Randall Bird of Germantown, MD and Gregory Bird of Pocatello, ID; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral Information
