William E. Petruno Jr.
March 23, 1937 - July 18, 2008
William E. Petruno, Jr., 71, formerly of Danbury, died peacefully at Haven Health Care Center in Torrington, on Friday, July 18th. He was born in Danbury on March 23, 1937, son of the late William E. and Mildred (Henigman) Petruno.
Mr. Petruno served with the United States Navy during peacetime. He worked as a metrologist for Barden Corp for more than 40 years. He was a member of the NRA, the National Train Collectors Association, the Stamford Model Train and the Fly RC Club. He was also a member of the state of Connecticut and National Audubon Societies. In addition to collecting trains, he was also an avid stamp collector.
He will be sadly missed by his son, William E. Petruno III and his fiancé Katie Reilly of Roxbury; his two daughters, Michelle Keller and her husband, Daniel of New Milford, and Kathleen Morlock and her husband, Robert, of the Danbury Police Department. He is also survived by his former wife, Kate Fitzpatrick of Naples, Fl; his cousin Debbie Englert and her husband, George of Bethel and his beloved cat, "Chessie."
He was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Petruno. Funeral Information
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 22nd at 10:00am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Danbury. Cremation will take place at the direction of the family.
The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Monday, July 21st between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00pm. Donations Information
