Derna L. Pinto, age 93, of Glen Hill Rd., Danbury died on April 7, 2006 at Harborside-Glen Hill Center for Health. She was the wife of the late Edmond V. Pinto.
Mrs. Pinto was born in Manhattan on October 24, 1912, a daughter of the late Gaetano and Guisippina (Mariani) DeFabiis. She was a graduate of the Bronx-Manhattan High School. Mrs. Pinto was self employed as a Crochet Beader who created costumes for various entertainers. She enjoyed cooking and bowling.
Most of all, Mrs. Pinto was a loving wife, devoted mother and accomplished homemaker. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her but will make such a wonderful addition to heaven.
She is survived by her two sons: Robert Pinto of Rocky Point, NC and Andrew Pinto and his wife Carol of Peekskill, NY; her sister Francis Fagan of NJ; 5 grandchildren: Michael, Kenneth, John, Doris-Anne, and Christopher; several great and great-great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband of 73 years, Edmond, she was predeceased by seven of her nine siblings. Funeral Information
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 9, 2006 at 3:00 in the afternoon at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury. Cremation will follow at Charter Oak Crematory. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 until 4:00. Donations Information
