Joseph Anthony Poprocki
March 20, 1926 - May 16, 2008
Joseph Anthony Poprocki, age 82, of New Milford, passed away on May 16th at New Milford Hospital after a long and courageous fight with both heart disease and pancreatic cancer. He was born in Brooklyn New York on March 20, 1926, son of the late William and Laura Poprocki.
Joe was a graduate of Our Lady of Angels School and St. Michael's High School, both in Brooklyn, and attended St. John's University in Queens. He was married to Carol Kelleher Poprocki for 36 years until her death in 2000.
Although born, raised, and having spent over 50 years in New York City, Joe was enamored with the great outdoors. He was an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman. Joe also was on many bowling league teams in Brooklyn, and participated in many New York State tournaments over the years. In his younger years, Joe helped manage his father's businesses and also worked in insurance and car sales, as well as security at Kimberly Clark and Kent School, before his retirement.
Joe is survived by his daughter, Liz Poprocki-Duguay and his grandson, Rob Poprocki, both of New Milford. Funeral Information
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 21st at 11:00am at St. Joseph Church, Brookfield. Cremation will take place at the direction of the family. There are no calling hours. The Brookfield Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Donations Information
