Marjorie (Lund) Prokopy, 79, of Candlewood Lake Road, Brookfield died on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at Hancock Hall, Danbury. She was the wife of the late Kenneth Prokopy.
Mrs. Prokopy was born in Brookfield on April 8, 1928 a daughter of the late Harry and Mae (Swanson) Lund. A lifelong area resident, she was a graduate of Danbury High School, class of 1946. A Business Representative for SNET, she retired after 33 years of service. She was a member of the Pioneers of America and a member of the Congregational Church of Brookfield. She enjoyed the company of her many long-time friends. She was especially devoted to her many nieces and nephews and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her niece and caregiver: Darlene Burr and her husband Jonathan of Washington, CT; several other nieces and nephews and many great and several great great nieces and nephews; and her cousins: Dorothy and Henry Johnson of Danbury. Funeral Information
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at 11:30 am at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield with Chaplain Kendall Paladino officiating. Burial in Central Cemetery, Brookfield will be in the spring. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:30 am until the time of the service at 11:30.
