Shirley Mae Blackman

Shirley Mae (Fanning) Blackman, 78, of New Fairfield, wife of the late Howard M. Blackman, died at Danbury Hospital on Sunday, September 23rd. She was born in Danbury on August 22, 1929, daughter of the late Harold and Alice (McIntosh) Fanning. She was a graduate of Danbury High School, Class of 1947.
Mrs. Blackman worked as a bookkeeper, alongside her husband, at Blackman Service Station.
She will be sadly missed by her two sons, Ronald and his wife, Lori of New Fairfield, James and his wife, Debbie of New Fairfield; her two daughters, Cheryl Pelletier and her husband, Joel of Torrington, and Dawn Ruehl and her husband, Calvin of Raleigh, NC; her twelve grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Jean C. DePaul and her husband, Louis of Danbury, Barbara Licursi of Florida, and Patricia A. Esposito of Danbury; as well as several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 26th at 10:00am at St. Gregory the Great Church. Burial in Central Cemetery, Brookfield, will follow.
The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Tuesday, September 25th between the hours of 5 - 8. Donations Information
