William F. Blasy, 92, of The Village Commons, Brookfield, died at Laurel Ridge Rehabilitation Center, Ridgefield, on Monday, March 21st. He was born in Danbury on October 2, 1912, son of the late John and Susanna (Gotthardt) Blasy. He was a graduate of Immanuel Lutheran School and was raised on Lake Avenue in Danbury.
He was a Veteran of World War II having served in the Pacific with the United States Navy. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
Mr. Blasy returned to the Danbury Area in 2000 after making his home in California where he worked as an Electronic Engineer. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, and a past member of the Phoenix Hose Co. Volunteer Fire Co.
He is survived by his two nephews, Kurt Beck of Oakville, and Lewis Beck of Naugatuck; his three nieces, Linda Miller and Joan Hislop of Danbury, and Barbara Stevens of Monroe. Funeral Information
Funeral Services will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Friday, March 25th at 10:00am with Reverend Walt Harper officiating. Burial will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Danbury.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday morning between the hours of 9 and 10:00am.
