Mary A. Rogalla, 60, of Broad Street, Danbury, devoted wife of Joseph Surovy, Jr., died at her home, on Tuesday, November 14th. She was born in Hartford, on March 27, 1946, daughter of the late Charles and Leokadia (Maslanka) Rogalla. She was a graduate of Southern Connecticut State University and received her MS in Elementary Education from Western Connecticut.
Mrs. Rogalla was a dedicated school teacher who touched many children's lives during her 38 years in the Danbury School System at South Street School. She enjoyed traveling in Poland, visiting cousins. She took many road trips throughout the USA, including California, Colorado, the Midwest, and Northeast.
She loved her family and her grandchildren were her passion.
In addition to her beloved husband of 20 years, Joe, she is survived by her two stepsons, John Alan Surovy of New Hampshire and Joseph Surovy III of Danbury; her six grandchildren, Joseph, Crystal, Alexis, Tyler, Chelsea, and Seth. She is also survived by two brothers, Frank Rogalla and his wife, Sibylle, John Rogalla; and her sister, Christina Bartosiak; as well as two nieces, Juli and Althea; one nephew, Tedd; three great nephews, Karl, Alex and Tanner; and one great niece, Ariana. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, date and time to be announced.
