Peter J. Rourke

Peter J. Rourke, 68, of Brookfield, devoted husband of Sandra (Kana) Rourke, died at Danbury Hospital on Sunday, October 22nd. He was born in Hartford on November 20, 1937, son of the late Francis and Rita (Ryan) Rourke. He was a graduate of Greenwich High School, Class of 1955.
Peter served in the United States Air Force. He worked for Perkin Elmer, then Hughes Optical, retiring after 31 years of employment.
He was well known by his family and friends for his easy going and upbeat nature. Even in illness, he faced each day with a positive attitude and an inner strength that was inspiring to all. He will be sadly missed.
In addition to his wife of 43 years, Sandra, he is survived by his son, Michael Rourke and his wife, Terri of Danbury; his two daughters, Melissa St. Arnauld and her husband, Paul of Medford, NJ and Laurie Coppenger and her husband, Troy of Richmond, VA; his eight grandchildren, Tyler and Adam Rourke, Megan, Brett, and Steven St. Arnauld Olivia, Lucas and Colby Coppenger,. He is also survived by his brother, Christopher Rourke and his wife, Gina of New Milford; his sister, Susan Vozzella and her husband, Ted of Temple, GA; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Daniel Rourke. Funeral Information
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 27th at 10:00am at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church in Brookfield. Cremation will take place at the direction of the family.
The Family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Thursday, October 26th between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00pm. Donations Information
