Ines (Tedaldi) Sala

Ines (Tedaldi) Sala, 85, of Maplewood Drive, Danbury, wife of the late Guido Sala, died on Wednesday, April 7th at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. She was born in New York, NY., on June 7, 1918, daughter of the late Giuseppe and Desolina (Antoniazzi) Tedaldi. Her early years were divided between Fidenza, Italy and New York. She returned permanently to the United States at the age of 16.
Mrs. Sala was a strong and determined woman who returned to school later in life to earn a B.A. in History from Queens College and completed all course requirements toward a M.A.- Ph.D. in Psychology from NYU. She was the first to institute a Peer Counseling Program at Hunter College, where she was a Certified Counselor until she retired after 20 years of service.
Mrs. Sala participated with the Lion' Club Low Vision Organization. She enjoyed traveling back to Fidenza, Italy and renewing her family ties.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Sandra Hedlund and her husband, Gerald of Danbury, and her granddaughter, Amanda White of Danbury. She was predeceased by her sister, Maria Tedaldi. Funeral Information
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 16th, at 10:30 am. at St. Peter Church, Danbury. Interment of cremains will follow in the family plot at St. Peter Cemetery. The Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, is in charge of arrangements. Donations Information
