Fayleen Joy Sauer, 65, of Pembroke Avenue, devoted wife of Bernard Sauer died at home in the presence of family and friends on Wednesday, May 19, 2004. Fayleen was born in Brookfield, CT on March 3, 1939 the daughter of the Leon and Lois (Smith) Burdick. Fayleen in her younger years attended Brookfield schools.
Fayleen worked as a Machine Operator at Kimberly Clark for several years. She enjoyed working on Crafts, was an avid Doll Collector , enjoyed gardening and traveling. Most importantly though she was a loving Mother, and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family.
Fayleen leaves to survive her Mother Lois Marion Smith. two sons: Paul (Doreen) VanValkenburgh of Bethel, CT, Kevin (Judy) VanValkenburgh of Florida, Four Daughters: Karen (Alan) Machado of New Milford, CT, Laura VanValkenburgh of Bethel, CT, Machelle (Steve) Pryor of New Milford, CT and Sherry VanValkenburgh of Waterbury, CT. Two Sisters: Sherry Powell of Sandy Hook, CT, and Gail Niles of Spartensburgh, SC. Seven Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews Funeral Information
Friends may call at the Cornell Memorial Home 247 White Street, Danbury on Friday from 4:00 - 7:00 with Parish prayers at 5:00. Funeral Services for Fayleen and her husband Bernie will on Wednesday May 26, 2004 at 10:00am at the Cornell Memorial Home with Rev. Dr. Laura Ahrens of St. James Episcopal Church officiating. Interment will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery. Donations Information
