The death of Alan Michael Schimanskey, 45, occurred at his home on Henso Drive in Danbury on Thursday, December 11th. Alan was born in Danbury on December 2, 1958, son of Walter A. Schimanskey, Jr. and the late Arlene V. Schimanskey. He attended local schools and was a lifelong Danbury resident.
Alan was active in his youth but life as he knew it was cut short due to a hit and run motorcycle accident, leaving him in a coma for the past twenty four years. He was in the loving care of his devoted mother and father.
Besides his father, he is survived by four brothers, Walter A. Schimanskey, III of Danbury, Richard J. and his wife, Taryan of Danbury, Paul A. and his wife, Zelia of New Fairfield, Gary V. and his wife, Kimberly, of Danbury. He is also survived by Uncle Bud and Peggy Gillotte of Danbury, Uncle Francis Schimanskey of New York, and Aunt Theresa Hamed of Danbury; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his mother, and brothers, Carl B. Schimanskey and Robert J. Schimanskey. Funeral Information
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 15th, 10:00 am., at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. The family will receive friends between the hours of 8:30 and 9:30am on Monday at the funeral home.
