Emil E. Smigala Jr.
December 22, 1928 - August 30, 2005
Emil E. Smigala, Jr., "Junior," of Route 37, New Fairfield, died at Yale New Haven Hospital on Tuesday, August 30th. He was born in Brooklyn, NY., on December 22, 1928, son of the late Emil, Sr. and Mary (Thomas) Smigala. He was a graduate of Immanuel Lutheran School in Danbury.
Emil was a Veteran of World War II serving with the United States Navy. He worked for Vanderbilt Chemical Company in Bethel and later retired from Western Connecticut State University where he worked in the maintenance department for more than twenty years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting in his earlier years and was very active in local Fish and Game Clubs.
He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Linda Hugo and her husband, Gary of Huntington; his two grandsons, Scott Hugo and his wife, Amy, Todd Hugo and his wife, Lucy; two great grandchildren, Brett Alexander Hugo and Jack Ryan Hugo. He is also survived by his sister, Ruth Brewer of Danbury; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Emil was predeceased by his beloved and devoted wife, Harriett (Sandstrom) Smigala. Funeral Information
The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 2, 2005 at 6:30 PM at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury. Rev. Walt Harper of Immanuel Lutheran Church will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:00 to 6:30. Donations Information
