Ruth M. (Smigala) Brewer, 75, of Danbury, died at Danbury Hospital on Tuesday, March 14th. She was born in Danbury on August 30, 1930, daughter of the late Emil and Mary Agnes (Thomas) Smigala.
Ruth retired from Harco Chemical Company in Bethel many years ago. She was a devoted member of Jehovah's Witness and was a very active publisher for the church until her health deteriorated in 1998. Ruth loved to talk about the bible and share her faith with those she came in contact with.
She is survived by her daughter, Valentine Mary Rodger and her husband, Douglas of SanDiego, California; one niece, Linda Hugo; several cousins, and her dear dog, Sally.
She was predeceased by her brother, Emil E. Smigala, Jr. Funeral Information
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 18th at 4:00pm, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, 1240 Route 22, Brewster, NY, Route 22 one mile north of Route 84, next to Getty Gas Station.
Cremation will take place at the direction of the family. The Cornell Memorial Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
