Marguerite (Ellis) Stewart, age 79, of Eden Court, Brookfield, wife of the late Edward T. Stewart, Sr., died at Yale New Haven Hospital on Saturday, October 11th. She was born in Poultney, VT on October 2, 1929, daughter of the late James and Gertrude (Wallace) Ellis. She was a graduate of Danbury High School, Class of 1948.
Mrs. Stewart was a parishioner of St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church in Brookfield. She was an active member of the Brookfield Senior Center, serving as a past officer and R.S.V.P Volunteer. She was also a member of AARP. She enjoyed oil painting.
A devoted mother and grandmother, she will be sadly missed by her daughter, Maureen Stewart of Danbury; her three sons, Daniel A. Stewart of Palm Bay, Fl, Edward T. Stewart and his wife, Barbara of New Milford, and Paul S. Stewart and his wife, Paula of Palm Bay, Fl; her grandchildren, William J. and Laura E. Stewart; and great granddaughter, Jocelynne Stewart. She is also survived by a brother, Gerald Ellis of NC as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Information
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 16th at 10:00am. at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Wednesday evening between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00pm. Donations Information
