Charles J. Thiel Sr.

Charles J. Thiel, Sr., 74, of Waterbury, husband of Violet E. (Bard) Thiel, died at Crescent Manor on Sunday, December 4th. He was born in Union City, NJ., on August 18, 1931, son of the late Charles J. and Elizabeth (Keifer) Thiel.
Mr. Thiel was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army in Germany. He worked as a Sanitation Driver for Town & Country as well as Thomas Refuse Company. He was a member of the VFW Post 149 in Danbury.
In addition to his wife, Violet, he is survived by his son, Charles J. Thiel, Jr. and his wife, Debbie of Naugatuck; his three daughters, Darlene Gunther and her husband Wayne of Middlebury, Violet Pickel of Danbury, and Joann Grolich of New Fairfield. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral Information
The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury on Wednesday, December 7th between the hours of 6 and 8:00pm.
