Colin F. Thomas, age 73, of Candlewood Lake Road, Brookfield, husband of 40 years to the late Bridget (Coady) Thomas, died peacefully at his home on Thursday, May 7th. He was born in Cardiff, Wales, UK on July 15, 1935, son of the late Thomas F. and Edna (Jones) Thomas.
Mr. Thomas was a tool and die model maker for DuPont, Co., in Newtown. He was also a night school teacher at Henry Abbott Technical School, and was instrumental in the development of the DuPont Apprentice Program. He loved soccer, especially the English Primeir League. He also enjoyed Women's UConn Basketball, and was a supporter of the Brookfield High School Sports Program.
He will be sadly missed by his cherished daughters, Sian Thomas-Valentine and her husband, Mark of Medina, Ohio, and Samantha Thomas-Boelke of Brookfield; his four grandchildren, Blake and Bridget Boelke, Grant and Quinn Valentine. He is also survived by his two brothers-in-law, Michael Coady and his wife, Julia of UK, and John Coady and his wife, Bettina of Germany; his two sisters-in-law, Ann Coady, Patricia Rice and her husband, James, all of the UK; as well as several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Wednesday, May 13th between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00pm. Donations Information
