Eileen M. (Scanlan) Tyrrell, 87, of Glen Crest, Danbury, died at Danbury Hospital on Wednesday, September 26th. She was born in Flushing, NY on March 20, 1920, daughter of the late Roger and Anna (Walsh) Scanlan.
In her early days, she worked as a secretary and eventually became the Vice President of Tycoon Typing Company in New York, NY. She retired from IBM after 20 years of service.
She enjoyed painting, reading, playing Scattergories, storytelling and spending time with her family and friends.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Carol Ann Brady and her husband, Peter of Brookfield; her three grandchildren, Kerri and Robyn Brady of Brookfield, Ellen Cartwright and her husband, David of Rye, NY; her nieces, Kim Arnaut and her husband, Phil Ricciardi, and Genieve Arnaut; her grandnephew, Noah, and grandnieces, Molly, Zoe, and Eliza. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 1st at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church in Brookfield. Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, NY, will follow.
The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, on Sunday, September 30th between the hours of 2-4 and 7-9. Donations Information
