Mary (Layok) Ukers, 87, of Stark Tor, Danbury, wife of the late Donald Ukers, Sr., died at River Glen Convalescent Center in Southbury on Saturday, April 15th. She was born in Crabtree, PA., on May 5, 1918, daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Hrobak) Layok.
Mrs. Ukers worked as a psychiatric aide for Fairfield Hills Hospital in Newtown. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.
She will be sadly missed by her two sons, Donald Ukers and his wife, Carol of New Milford and George Ukers and his wife, Melissa of Danbury; her daughter, Robin Bondi of Waterbury; many grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, John Layok of Danbury, Edward Layok of Danbury, and Louis Layok of New Fairfield; her sisters, Elaine Syzmonwitz of New Fairfield, and Ann Sidel of Long Island, NY; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her son, Stephen Pugner. Funeral Information
