Daniel Raymond Viggiano, 78, of Candlewood Park, Danbury, died Saturday, December 4th at Laurel Ridge Health Care Center. He was born and raised in New Rochelle, NY., on November 25, 1926, son of the late Joseph and Adeline (Fletcher) Viggiano.
Danny was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army. He worked as a plumber for the Local Union 86 for many years. He then worked for the County of Westchester until his retirement in 1992. He made his home in Danbury in 1996.
In his younger years he was a Boy Scout Leader and enjoyed gardening. He was an avid history buff and loved American Western History. He was a loving grandfather to his 14 grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Danny will be sadly missed by his three sons, Andrew Viggiano and his wife Patricia of Peekskill, NY, Raymond Viggiano and his wife, Deb of New Haven, Indiana, and Thomas Viggiano of Cincinnati. He is also survived by his loving companion of more than 20 years, Eleanor Preisig, and her family, Barbara Wood of Danbury, Lisa Romano of Harwinton, and Richard Preisig of Somers, NY.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph and Robert Viggiano. Funeral Information
Funeral Services will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, CT., on Friday, December 10th at 11:00am. Cremation and interment will take place at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, December 9th between the hours of 6 and 9:00pm. Donations Information
