Obituary of Alexander J. Weiner

Alexander J. Weiner July 17, 1911 - June 28, 2009 Alexander J. Weiner, age 97, of Morton Street, Danbury, husband of the late Hazel (Montgomery) Weiner, died at home on Sunday, June 28th. He was born in Danbury on July 17, 1911, son of the late Andrew and Mary (Kumik) Weiner. Mr. Weiner was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Navy Sea Bees. He was self employed, owing and operating Al Weiner & Sons, Inc, working in commercial painting in Fairfield, Litchfield, and Westchester counties. Upon his retirement, he continued to advise his sons, and also enjoyed woodworking. His memberships included the Polish American Citizens Club, the Painters Union, Local 522, and the Knights of Columbus. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Danbury. Alexander will be sadly missed by his two sons, Alan Weiner and Keith Weiner and his wife, Sandra; his four grandchildren, Randi Lynch and her husband, Richard, Ian Weiner and his wife, Kristie, Tammy Weiner-Curatilo and her husband, Philip, and Brian Weiner; and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Casimir and Stanley Weiner; and his sister, Mary Cannon and her husband, James. He was predeceased by his siblings, Charles, Edward, and Helen Weiner; and his stepsister, Wanda Weiner. Funeral Information A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 2nd at 10:00am at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Danbury. Cremation and interment in St. Peter Cemetery will take place at the direction of the family. The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Wednesday between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00pm.
