John Joseph Wohlever

John Joseph Wohlever died peacefully in his sleep on January 19, 2006 at his son's house in Holland Michigan.
He was born in Amherst, Ohio on November 26, 1907. He was one of seven children and the last surviving member of the family.
He was married to Anna Klier on June 18, 1930. His wife Ann predeceased him, dying in 1999. He is survived by his three children Patricia Eden of Potomac Maryland, John Wohlever of Holland, Michigan and James Wohlever of Brookfield, Connecticut, 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grand children.
After graduating from high school, where he was the valedictorian, he worked for the Union Signal and Switch Company at various locations in the east and midwest. The family moved to New York City in 1939 where he worked for the New York Transportation System until his retirement in 1969. He and Ann moved to Brookfield at that time and spent many happy years there. The last two years had seen him visiting Maryland and Michigan where he died. His hobbies included traveling, gardening, reading and crossword puzzles.
He was a very gentle and warm man. His family and those who knew him will miss him very much. Funeral Information
There will be a funeral mass at St. Joseph Church in Brookfield on Wednesday, January 25 at 10:00 AM. There will not be any calling hours. The Brookfield Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Donations Information
