Elise Piech Woodward

Elsie Piech Woodward, of Skyline Drive, Danbury, wife of the late Hartley Woodward, died Thursday, June 24th at the age of 93. She was born in Bedford, New York, on January 8, 1911, daughter of the late Clarence and Edna (Brown) Nichols.
Mrs. Woodward was a homemaker maintaining the family home. She was a former parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Danbury, and former member of the Congregational Church of Watertown. She enjoyed sewing, square dancing and playing the organ. In her younger years she was a foster mother for the State of Connecticut.
She will be sadly missed by her five children, Alex Piech and his wife, Maureen, of Danbury, Elsie Mae Pettit of Danbury, Rita Cyr of Grahmsville, New York, Audrey Piech of Danbury, and Doreen Reeve of Highland, New York; twenty-four grandchildren; thirty-two great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; her four stepchildren and several step-grandchildren, all of the Watertown Area. She is also survived by her two brothers, Leslie Nichols of New York, and John Nichols of South Dakota; her sister, Beatrice Wilcox of New York; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Alexander Piech, and her daughter, Patricia Piech. Funeral Information
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 28th at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Danbury, at 10:00am. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 27th at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, between the hours of 4 and 7pm. Donations Information
