Curtis Bristol

Curtis Bristol, of Brookfield, husband of the late Julia (Ferry) Bristol, died at Candlewood Valley Health Center in New Milford, on Friday, January 15th. He was born in Brookfield on December 7, 1921, son of the late Clarence and Anna (Deans) Bristol. He was a graduate of Danbury High School.
Mr. Bristol was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater of Operations with the United States Navy as a flight engineer of P.B.Y Flying boats. After his release from service, alongside his father, he owned and operated C. Bristol Construction and was responsible for the development of Cherry Lane in Brookfield. He was a member of the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Co. for more than 50 years.
He enjoyed stock car racing and was past president of the Southern New York Racing Association. Upon his retirement, he and his wife, Julia, enjoyed traveling the Country.
He will be sadly missed by his son, Curtis E. Bristol, Jr. and his husband, Gordon Pittard of Woodbridge; his daughter, Vicki Doolittle of Bismarck, North Dakota; his nephew, Roger Prinz and his wife, Lisa of Brookfield; their children, Nick Costa and Alexis Prinz. He is also survived by a multitude of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
In addition to his wife, Curtis was predeceased by his daughter, Polly Elizabeth Bristol; and his stepson, Robert Shrigley. Funeral Information
The family will receive friends at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield on Wednesday, January 20th between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00pm. Donations Information
