Catherine "Kitty" (Donovan) Browne, 87, of Glen Hill Road, Danbury, wife of the late James O. Browne, of the NYPD, died peacefully home on Monday, October 8th. She was born on October 27, 1919, daughter of the late Jeremiah and Katherine (Fox) Donovan.
Mrs. Browne worked as a telephone operator for the original AT&T, and later for the Metropolitan Museum of Art. She was a past parishioner of St. John's Church, Kingsbridge, Bronx, NY, and St. Maximillian Parish in Toms River, NJ.
She will be sadly missed by her four sons, James Browne (Ronnie) of Atlanta, GA, Richard Browne (Gail) of Richmond, VA, Gerard Browne of Jersey City, NJ, and Kevin Browne (Lorraine) of Yonkers, NY; her daughter, Kathleen Huggins (Kirk) of Denver, CO; her grandchildren, Christopher, Ryan, Mallory and Maddy. She is also survived by her brother, Timothy Donovan; sisters, Ann McNally, and Dorothy Donovan; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister, Margaret Noonan. Funeral Information
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 12th at 10:00am at St. Gregory the Great Church, Danbury. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River, NJ, will take place on Saturday, October 13th at 11:00am.
The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Thursday, October 11th between the hours of 2-5 and 7-9pm.
