Sandra L. Burger

Sandra L. (Santich) Burger, 74, of Danbury, wife of the late John L. Verner, died peacefully at Bethel Health Care Center on Tuesday, April 14th. She was born in Duryea, PA on October 12, 1934, daughter of the late Matthew and Palma (Gnazzo) Santich.
Sandra was a registered nurse, working for Heritage Heights, as well as Danbury Hospital in the 1980's. She devoted her life to her work and her family. Her hobbies included crossword puzzles, playing board games with her grandchildren, baking cookies, and cultivating potted plants on her deck. She also enjoyed going out to lunch with friends.
She will be sadly missed by; her two daughters, Susan Bauer and her husband, Brett of Attleboro, MA, and Michele Flynn and her husband, Artie of Albany, NY; her son, David Burger and his wife, Nancy of Redding; her six grandchildren, Brett Jr. and Kate Bauer, Jake and Matty Flynn, Jimmy and Shawn Burger. She is also survived by her two brothers, Matthew Santich of Delaware, and David Santich of Pennsylvania; her sister, Palma Baldi of Sudbury, MA; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her grandson, Walsh Rory Bauer. Funeral Information
Funeral Services will be held at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Monday, April 20th at 10:00am. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, April 19th between the hours of 4:00 and 6:00pm. Donations Information
