Donata (Nonny) Butterfield
March 18, 1922 - February 20, 2007
Donata R. "Nonny" Butterfield, formerly of 50 Oak Ridge Gate, Danbury, devoted wife of Edward G. Butterfield, died at Laurel Ridge, on Tuesday, February 20th. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on March 18, 1922, daughter of the late George and Clara (Van Belleghem) Ehrbar.
Nonny, as she was lovingly known to her family and friends, was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She was a parishioner of St. Gregory the Great Church and was an active volunteer with the American Cancer Society and Dorothy Day Hospitality House.
In addition to her husband of 63 years, Edward, she will be sadly missed by her son, Chris M. Butterfield and his wife, Beverly of Bethlehem; her two daughters, Laura S. Butterfield of East Haven, and Kathie C. Penna of Kennebunk, ME; and her two granddaughters, Lauren and Carrie Penna, both of Boston. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
She was predeceased by her ten siblings. Funeral Information
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, February 23rd at 10:00am at St. Gregory the Great Church. Burial in St. Peter Cemetery will follow.
The family will receive friends at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury, on Thursday, February 22nd between the hours of 4:00 and 6:00pm. Donations Information
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Nonny's memory to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the American Lung Association, 45 Ash Street, East Hartford, CT. 06108.
